The Background for the story....
The buy to let industry has been hyped by all the media as some sort of money pit. However, anyone can buy and sell on a rising market and make money! Except people are now finding to their cost, as the market drops, profit can suddenly become a loss.
It fascinated me what would happen if a child was left to look after a very successful buy to let operation. With of course the added advantage all mortgages were insured and left no debt, resulting in this child becoming very wealthy.
Of course I had to add the boyfriend, the grabbing relatives, the indifferent solicitor and shattered relationships! Resulting in 'Gemma's WhiteCliff' a fictional story not that far from reality! |
